What is EMC?

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is the ability of electronic devices/equipment to work as intended in the presence of other devices that emit electromagnetic waves in their electromagnetic environment. This means that each piece of an electronic component in the device that emits electromagnetic waves and disturbances must be limited to a certain level and these components must also be immune to the electromagnetic disturbances from the environment it is meant to function in.

Why do we need EMC?

For people to feel safe and comfortable using good quality, secured and exceptional electronic equipment/devices. Through EMC, electronic devices and products are tested if it has unintentional generation, propagation, and reception of electromagnetic waves that may cause unwanted effects such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) or even physical damage of the device. EMC testing prevents and controls these interferences in order to mitigate the risk of damaging effects on various technologies. With this, we can avoid substandard electronic products and we can make sure that the electronic products we used were safe, secure and exceptional.
