The Electronics Product Development Center (EPDC) recently acquired ISO17025 Accreditation last September 2019. Awarded by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), the ISO17025 Accreditation further solidifies EPDC as one of the top electronics testing center in the Philippines.
The accreditation recognizes the technical competence and the laboratory quality management system of EPDC for electronics testing. A2LA awarded the ISO 17025 to the emissions and automotive electromagnetic compatibility tests of EPDC for the following products: Internet of Things (IoT) equipment, Information Technology Equipment, Multimedia Equipment, Power Supplies, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, 3D Printers, Medical equipment and On-board Automotive devices (ie: camera, sensor, ecu, etc.).
Now that EPDC is ISO17025 certified, local electronic and manufacturing companies will be able to test their products for compliance locally instead of doing the tests overseas ultimately saving them time and expense. Furthermore, the accreditation situates EPDC globally with other electronics testing centers around the world as it recognized several testing methods of the center for its international compliance.
The Electronics Industries Association of the Philippines, Inc. (EIAPI), which manages the operations of EPDC together with DOST-ASTI, hopes that with the recent ISO17025 accreditation of EPDC, the electronics industry of the Philippines would continue to prosper.
